A Message from Tim O'Toole (CTC II-90)
Former Squad Club President, Retired aka 'Turner' / “ChippyTim”
I’m on a mission to build a dedicated, meaningful community for current and former employees of the department—no matter your assignment or work task.
My purpose is simple:
Looking to rekindle the friendships, revive the camaraderie, and reignite the sense of purpose we once shared while serving the people of California.
Whether you supported operations behind the scenes or served on the front lines of our highways, we were all part of something bigger—working together to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic across this great state... and trying our very best not to get smushed.
At Squad Club, we’re creating something special:
A vetted, private, gated Group Space that fosters open, authentic communication
—Free from noise, clutter, or outside agendas. A place where we can reconnect, reflect, and reimagine what community means for all of us.
It’s more than just a platform.
It’s a place to come home to.

From time to time, as a retired California Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officer, I’ve received the difficult news of losing a friend, colleague, or member of our extended departmental family. With each passing year, those numbers seem to grow—and the weight of those losses only deepens.
In 2010, that sorrow struck home in a way I’ll never forget. We lost another officer on California’s roadways—but this time, it was a person out of our graduating class, in fact he was 'My Room Dawg from CTC II-90:
Redacted, #13164.
This one… that one really Hit Home and Hit Hard. Jeez, Brett. 💔
His passing stayed with me—reminding me of the value of every moment we shared in uniform, and the bonds forged over the course of a lifetime of service. And eventually, the idea came to me: to create a space where we could honor those who came before us, where we could reconnect, remember, and reclaim the spirit of a career like no other.
Time is the one constant—it waits for no one. And if there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that truth never changes, and a life well-lived is built through meaningful connection and community.
For over 25 years, I’ve poured my heart into building something that matters—something that doesn’t rely on the algorithms and distractions of commercial social media. Something that reflects us.
